Everyone said if you came to Shuang gou you would be in the sea of liquor, the home of liquor, and in the arms of liquor. It is like a bright pearl on the Huaihe String and reputed as one of the cradles of human civilization. Its on this holy land that Shuang gou Drunk Ape from 18 million years ago was excavated. It turned into Drunk Ape Island indeed because its located in the delta of Hongze Lake and Huaihe River. In 1979, Chen Haosu,the eldest son of Chen Yi (a Chinese communist military commander and politician) came specially to Shuang gou Liquor Group to look for his fathers revolutionary footprint, and composed a poem: "Ancient Sizhou, Drunk Ape Island, a special liquid from Huaihe River, which made the strong aromatic liquor of good quality. Go all out and aim high, Shuang gou Liquor,worthy of praise", which made Drunk Ape Island rise to fame.

Around 18 million years ago, the ancient apes in Shuang gou were busy picking wild fruits and saved some in the tree holes against unexpected needs. After long storage, fragrant juice oozed out after natural fermentation so that they were eager to sip a drink. Drunk, bleary-eyed and tired afterwards, they giggled to each other, then fell into a deep and sweet sleep groggily. Who knows this dream had existed 18 million years until their bone fossils were excavated in 1977 by Professor Li Chuankui from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, China Academy of Science. They were named Shuang gou Drunk Ape and called Asia is First Ape by the archaeological experts worldwide.
